Chicken Chinthamani / Palli paalayam chicken:

சிக்கன் சிந்தாமணி / பள்ளிபாளையம் சிக்கன் :

This is a popular chicken recipe in Coimbatore , a part of south India. And also pallipaalyam chicken also the same method , so we can use the recipe under both the names.
A simple chicken recipe with very minimal ingredients and a unique taste.
Let us see how to make the recipe…!!!

Ingredients:

3/4 kg chicken ( I used country chicken )
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1 1/2 cups shallots ( small onions)
15-20 dried red chillies
1 Tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/4 cup sliced coconut
Curry leaves
Salt

Direction:

Heat oil in pan and add shallots (small onion) and sauté for a while.

Then add ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder and chillies sauté until the shallots turn to light brown.

Add chicken pieces and stir together.

Add little water and cover the pan with a lid, cook for few mins until done.

Open the lid and stir well.

Add coconut shredded or thin pieces.

Stir together and off the heat.

Serve hot with rice.
